I’m going to settle for middle ground on this one because Twi-haters are glad this franchise is over and Twi-fans are glad that director Bill Condon has given them a proper ending, a cliche love forever ending, literally since Bella is now a vampire a.k.a immortal…
The astonishing conclusion to the series, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN, PART 2, illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.11
In BREAKING DAWN – PART 2, Bella, Edward & Jacob must assemble vampire covens from across the globe to counter the new threat of the ruling Volturi.
From Vampire vs. humans, to vampires vs. werewolves and now vampires team up with werewolves Vs. Volturi. Did I get that right? And now you throw in a kid in the middle of the conflict. By the way, one of this film’s biggest weaknesses is the way they digitally placed MacKenzie’s face on her character as a baby, it just looks too creepy.
I've never read any of Stephanie Meyer’s books but if I were to choose which one in this series was the one I genuinely enjoyed, I’d have to say The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, but The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 comes close, because the battle scene in the middle of snow covered field, is quite epic. It’s the fight of ‘who gets to break whose neck’ reaches its climax and the unexpected twist is entertaining. And I think we can all agree that Michael Sheen plays one heckuva villain.
Other than that, it’s back to that same formula and by that I mean.. once you've reviewed one Twilight movie, you can basically use that same review for all of the Twilight movies because the story’s evolution doesn’t change the performances, the characters, or the technical aspects either. And last but not least, it doesn’t matter what bloggers or critics say in their reviews of any of the Twilight movies, this is one franchise that doesn’t get made or broken by reviews, because it’ll bank big bucks no matter what. If this last installment proves anything is that it successfully caters to its target audience and gives them exactly what they want, no more, no less.
