BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

What Is Star Wars 1313?

Late last year, the registration of a few new Lucasfilm domain names clued us in to a mystery project that would eventually become the museum exhibit Star Wars: Identities. Now George Lucas and company have registered a few more, leaving us with another mystery: What is Star Wars 1313?

Last week, Lucasfilm registered eight domains via the Corporate Service Company, all centered around 1313: StarWars1313.com, SW1313.com, 1313starwars.com, 1313starwars.net, 1313sw.com, 1313sw.net, starwars1313.com, starwars1313.net, sw1313.com, and sw1313.net.

With no official announcement of anything new from Lucasfilm yet, fan theories are beginning to emerge. The most prominent so far is that Star Wars 1313 could be a Boba Fett film. Captain America director (and former Star Wars VFX technician) Joe Johnston really wants to make one, but what does 1313 have to do with it? Well, in the young reader novel Boba Fett: Maze of Deception, the bounty hunter uses the alias "CT-1313" at one point. Obscure, yes, but plausible?

As it turns out, probably not. The day before all those domain names were registered, Lucasfilm filed a trademark application for Star Wars: 1313. No movie is mentioned, but the application included listings of goods and services such as "interactive entertainment software and accompanying instruction manuals" and "entertainment services provided on-line by means of global and local area networks." That sounds like a videogame to us.

But videogame or not, where's the 1313 coming from? That's the part that's still unclear, but we'll keep you posted.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
