BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

ATM Movie Review

ATM Movie Review
By:RAMA

Would RAMA dare go to this ATM?

Alice Eve, Josh Peck and Brian Geraghty stuck in a big ass ATM room in the middle of a dark parking lot and there’s a creepy murderous man outside toying with them. ATM is one of those movies where everything is just set in one place and it’s brought to you by the screenwriter of Buried which I thought was a suspenseful thriller, much thanks to Ryan Reynolds’ powerhouse performance, ATM on the other hand, thought has its moments, is unbearable and a poor excuse for horror/thriller.
This is a movie that could easily end in the first 15 minutes but because it makes itself seem like it’s well-structured, when it’s actually not, the result drags on and on and on…

On a late night visit to an ATM, three co-workers end up in a desperate fight for their lives when they become trapped by an unknown man.

You know when you watch a horror or a thriller, sometimes you’d try to think of ways that the characters could outrun the baddie or perhaps how they might escape, well, ATM would put you in that situation and it takes advantage of those who think they couldn’t figure out a way out.
The script keeps throwing one situation after another that makes it seem the bad guy is way smart and that everything seems impossible and the characters would have to resort to panic.
The plot dumbs you down and how it develops just doesn’t make sense and it’s unrealistic.
You’ll get to a point where you don’t like all four characters, so much so that you’d wish the ATM place itself would just crush them all to death.

ATM is proof that it’s high time for screenwriter Sparling to get over his addiction to scenarios set in one place and expand his horizon. We had Open Water, we had Phone Booth, we had Buried, we had 127 Hours, those are cool movies, but ATM is a joke.
Unlike Jaws that made people be afraid of swimming in the ocean, or Cliffhanger which made people be afraid of heights, this movie doesn’t make you be afraid of going to the ATM at night, this movie just makes you hate ATM movie, period.
