We're already rather looking forward to Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol just because it daringly breaks away from colon-focused punctuation of the series to date. As a bonus, it also has Pixar's Brad Bird directing, a heck of a cast assembled and some very promising trailers so far. Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan will star in Penthouse North , a psychological thriller being directed by Joseph Ruben. Lionsgate is handling foreign sales for the thriller and is shopping it in Toronto. The pic will begin production in Canada’s capital, Ottawa, in November. The plot centers on a photojournalist ( Monaghan ) haunted by a tragic event who has escaped from the world in an upscale New York penthouse. The world comes after her with a vengeance in the form of a smooth but sadistic criminal ( Keaton ) looking for a hidden fortune, with the woman mustering her inner strength to survive. After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take “ substantial ” roles in The Expendables 2 , alongside Sylvester Stallone . KatzSmith Productions partners David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith have just signed a two-year first-look feature producing deal at Warner Bros. While rights are still being worked out, one of their first projects is expected to be a sequel to Beetlejuice , the 1988 Tim Burton-directed hit that starred Michael Keaton as a ghoul hired by a recently deceased couple to drive the new owners out of their house. Burton and Keaton made the movie while they were working on the studio’s first Batman film, which was released the following year.
