BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Is This The Lizard From The Amazing Spider-Man?

SpiderMedia.ru is reporting that this is the first look at The Lizard from the upcoming movie The Amazing Spider-Man . This isn't what I was expecting and let's see if this is how the final product will look like. Here is some background on The Lizard : Curtis Connors was born in Coral Gables, Florida. He was a gifted surgeon who enlisted in the U.S. Army and was sent off to war. He performed emergency battlefield surgery on wounded GIs, but his right arm was injured in a blast and had to be amputated. After his return to civilian life as a research technologist, Connors became obsessed with uncovering the secrets of reptilian limb regeneration and studied reptilian biology extensively. Working from his home in the Florida Everglades with the help of war buddy Ted Sallis, he finally developed an experimental serum taken from reptilian DNA. He successfully regrew the missing limb of a rabbit and then, despite the warnings of his wife Martha, chose to test it on himself. Co...

Harrison Ford Returns To Space In Ender's Game

After nearly three decades, Harrison Ford may finally be returning to where he truly belongs… outer space. Ford became one of the most popular stars in the world thanks to the space opera known as " Star Wars ," but, after completing his tour of duty with the Rebel Alliance in 1983, he hung up Han Solo's pistol belt and hasn't been behind the wheel of a spaceship since. Now Variety has intercepted a transmission that says Ford may be up for the adult lead of Colonel Hyrum Graff opposite a now-confirmed 14-year-old Asa Butterfield ("Hugo") in the hotly anticipated " Ender's Game ." Essentially "Harry Potter" meets "Full Metal Jacket" in space, the "Ender" series of novels by Orson Scott Card follow the pint-sized Napoleon named Ender as he fights his way through other child soldiers in a futuristic Battle School under the tutelage of Graff. Casting Ford as this tenured professor of alien ass kicking would b...

Wear Star Wars, Share Star Wars Come And Join Us

You might know Katie….you know, The Star Wars Girl ? Her story went viral about a year ago, and people all over fell in love with the darling little girl with a love of Star Wars. Katie was in first grade and being bullied by her boy classmates for, of all things, having a Star Wars water bottle. She was told girls can’t like Star Wars. She told her mom, through tears, she would just take a pink one instead to avoid being harassed. Her mom told her to follow her heart, and that it was okay to be different. Katie’s mom, Carrie, wrote a blog post about the situation and in days thousands and thousands of comments offering Katie support came pouring in. Join us on December 16, 2011 for Wear Star Wars, Share Star Wars . Last year the Internet held a day of support for a little girl who was brave enough to be different. Pigtail Pals celebrates all girls, and we’d love to have you and your kiddos participate! Celebrate this day of anti-bullying by wearing something Star Wars or science/s...

New Poster For John Carter

The title may not be the most obviously sci-fi ever, but we're still pretty excited about John Carter (not yet Of Mars). After all, it's directed by Andrew Stanton of Wall-E and Finding Nemo fame; it's based on a kick-ass series of pulpy adventure novels set on another planet, and the footage we've seen so far looks rather beautiful. Now there's a new poster for the film, which not only echoes the cover and colour of one recent Barsoom compilation but makes it a little clearer what's going on. New Images From Disney's JOHN CARTER- After all, here we see Taylor Kitsch's John Carter in all his nappy-wearing glory, surrounded by the clearly alien shapes of the green Tharks against the background of the Red Planet. If that doesn't get across what's going on, we're not sure what will. The new tagline, too - Lost In Our World, Found In Another - neatly sums up Stanton's approach to the story and Carter himself: a disaffected post-Civil W...

Kyle Chandler To Star In Broken City

He was last seen trying to keep his son and the lad’s friends from being menaced by a marauding alien (and the US army) in Super 8 , but for his next trick, Kyle Chandler is going to dabble in politics, joining the cast of Allen Hughes’ thriller Broken City . Mark Wahlberg is starring as a Noo Yoik detective hired by a powerful local mayor ( Russell Crowe ) to find out who has been having it away with his wife ( Catherine Zeta Jones ). But when Wahlberg eventually tracks down the man, the lover suddenly turns up dead and the detective starts to delve into a far darker conspiracy. Barry Pepper is also aboard, playing a mayoral candidate who is challenging Crowe, and Chandler will be one of the main players in his campaign. Griffin Dunne, James Ransone, Jeffrey Wright, Justin Chambers and Alona Tal are all in the cast. Hughes is busy shooting the film right now, which has a US release date set for January 18, 2013. Chandler has been doing rather well for himself since gett...

AMERICAN REUNION-Get A Look Behind The Camera

Universal has delivered a featurette, that takes you behind the scenes of the upcoming film AMERICAN REUNION . We get to see the cast interact and get to know each other again. Red Band Trailer For American Reunion- Watch the clip after the Jump... Video: 'American Reunion' Set Visit Actually, there’s not a lot here that’s truly offensive, aside from the concept of Jason Biggs’ Jim still being a chronic masturbator. Despite being seemingly happily married to Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), Jim can’t resist the chance to thrash one out when she’s in the bath, but is caught – in more ways than one – when his son arrives in the room. There’s one more little beat after that, but we won’t spoil it for you. Suffice to say, this is exactly what you’d expect from a new American Pie outing, and while it doesn’t exactly scream fresh and new, it is at least nice to see the old gang reunited, even if they’re not present here. American Pie: Reunion (as it’s apparently called over h...

Tom Hanks Enters The Garden Of Beasts

Universal has optioned the movie rights to Erik Larson’s nonfiction best-seller In the Garden of Beasts for Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman to produce via the duo’s Playtone banner. Hanks is eyeing the project as a potential starring vehicle. The book tells the true tale of William Dodd, the United States' reluctant and mild-mannered ambassador to Berlin in 1933, and his daughter Martha, a vivacious socialite who had romantic affairs with a Gestapo official and a Soviet spy. Dodd and his family at first naively navigated life in Nazi Germany (Dodd’s daughter was excited when Hitler kissed her hand) but they slowly gained awareness of the mounting brutality around them. The book, whose full title is In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin , was published in May. This isn’t Larson’s first brush with Hollywood; the author is known for writing The Devil and the White City , another nonfiction tome in development by Leonardo DiCaprio and hi...

Poster For Zach Braff's "All New People"

Maybe you enjoy watching filmstars do their stuff, but sometimes wish the surroundings were less distracting. Or perhaps you can't afford a 3D, but would like the same effect for less. Well, theatre might be the solution! And with that in mind, here's an exclusive look at the poster for the Zach Braff written-and-starring All New People . Which is a play, not a film. The Garden State director and Scrubs star already brought the play to Broadway, then starring The Hangover's Justin Bartha , but now he's coming to London and taking the lead role himself. We're told that the play concerns a 35 year-old who wants to spend time along in his parents' luxury apartment, but finds his plans to mope in peace interrupted by a succession of interlopers. The play opens at the Duke of York theatre in London on February 22 next year. So if you fancy being a bit cultural (since anything on stage is automatically cultural up to and including pantomime) check it out Pleas...

THE ARTIST Movie Review By: RAMA

THE ARTIST Movie Review By: RAMA So what did RAMA think of this Black and White film? Please make sure to follow him on Facebook and Twitter . THE ARTIST is beautiful, definitely one of my favorite films this year. I can watch it again and again. Writer/director Michel Hazanavicius has crafted a timeless masterpiece, a film that deserves best picture nomination along with acting nods for Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo . It’s a silent black-and-white film with masterful music accompaniment, a charming, irresistible story and an excellent production that gives you the feel of elegance and authenticity.. Hollywood, 1927: As silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. In the midst of remakes and sequels out there, THE ARTIST stands out as something unique, original and well-made. Not only is the film silent black and white but it’s also pres...

Christian Bale Talks "End Of That Batman Era" & Casting Of The Film

In a recent interview , Warner Bros.' reigning Batman, Christian Bale , confirmed that Christopher Nolan's upcoming The Dark Knight Rises will be his final turn in the superhero's cape. "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off," Bale said in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer . "I believe the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and Chris - that will be the end of that Batman era." Nostalgia aside, Bale also discussed the fresh faces Batman fans will be seeing when The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20, 2012. He gave his stamp of approval to Anne Hathaway 's portrayal of Catwoman in the film. “I had plenty of scenes with Anne,” said the actor. “And I was there when we did the screen test for her. The thing that I said to Chris that day was that there were many very accomplished actresses who had read for the role. I’m terrible...

DARK KNIGHT RISES 6 Minute PROLOGOUE Description

RAMA got an e-mail this fine Monday morning from a source that claimed he had seen the 6-minute prologue of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES ’ and he’s also got details on BANE, played in the film by Tom Hardy. Take it with a grain of salt.. Bane in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Nolan has significantly rewrote the story of Bane from the comics. He is raised by Ra’s al Ghul and his up bringing mirrors that of Bruce Wayne. It’s a mirror of Bruce, except it’s darker and twisted. Bane is trained to be an assassin for the League of Shadows. He kills political figures that are deemed unfit by the LOS. So he is a bit of a Che Guevara/ Jason Bourne type character. A revolutionary and an assassin. He comes to Gotham to start a revolution by revealing the cover up dealing with Harvey Dent and killing the Mayor, among other key political figures. DESCRIPTION OF THE 6- minute  PROLOGOUE Read more after the Jump... It is one of the assassinations ordered by Ra’s al Ghul. A mind blowing action sequenc...

Kenneth Branagh Would Return To Marvel Universe

Though he wasn't exactly the most likely of choices, Kenneth Branagh managed to turn Marvel's Thor into a fun, blockbuster addition to the Marvel movie canon. His name won't be on Thor 2 when it hits theaters in 2013, but Branagh says that if the timing were right, he'd love to go back to the Marvel universe. In a new interview promoting a number of projects, including the acclaimed new release My Week With Marilyn, which sees him return to the big screen as an actor, Branagh confirms that it was really only timing that kept him from returning to the world of Marvel's God of Thunder. For Branagh, directing Thor was a chance to do something he's never done before in all his years of Shakespeare adaptations and indie films: helm a massive production. "Across 20 years of making films, I hadn't spent a significant amount of time in that community, and I wanted to do that," he says. "Of all the American comics, Thor was the only one I was ...

New Trailer For Fox's Alcatraz

It's almost here! J.J. Abrams' newest drama Alcatraz is heading to Fox. The show is part Lost , part X-Files and a slice of Fringe all rolled into one. The network has just released a new trailer for the series premiere, and it looks awesome. Similar to Fringe and Alias, Alcatraz centers on a strong female character who works for the government. Her name is Rebecca Madsen ( Sarah Jones ), she's a homicide detective, and she's landed a strange murder case. The prime suspect in her investigation is former Alcatraz inmate Jack Sylvane ( Jeffrey Pierce ), who died decades ago! Can you smell the time travel in the air? Madsen seeks help from Alcatraz specialist Diego Soto (Lost's Jorge Garcia ), who's got the inside scoop on the famous prison. With him on her side, she should be able to solve this case in no time, right? Wrong! The show needs a foil, and we think that role could easily go to Mr. Sam Neill . The actor plays a high-powered government agent who...

Jared Harris To Play Ulysses S Grant In Spielberg's Lincoln Film

While most of the Spielberg -centric attention has been focused on War Horse of late, the director is now currently hard at work making his long-cherished Lincoln project. And though the cameras are already cranking, he’s still had time to add yet one more talented type to a cast list already bulging with them: Jared Harris will play Civil War commander (and future president) Ulysses S Grant . During the conflict, Grant won a reputation as a dedicated and driven general, ending up in charge of all the Union armies in their battle with the Confederate forces. He remained in command during the reconstruction period following the war and worked closely with Lincoln himself. Harris joins an ensemble that already includes (deep breath): Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, David Oyelowo, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley and Lee Pace , amongst others.
