No, we are not trying to be insulting about Sir Nicholas of Frost, who stands a normal sort of height in real life. He’s just taking on the one remaining dwarf role in Snow White and the Huntsman.
In case you haven’t caught one of the approximately 750 stories about casting and development on this one, Huntsman is a tweaked take on the traditional Snow White tale that finds the evil Queen (Charlize Theron) rounding up a dispirited warrior (Chris Hemsworth) to kill the young woman (Kristen Stewart) she despises for being just too pretty.
But instead of carrying out the task, our hero takes a shine to Snow and trains her up to survive and fight back.
Universal has been hitting the character actor ranks to crew up the traditionally pint-sized heroes, who will all be shrunk down with a little post-production magic once the film is in the can. Frost is joining the likes of Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham and Ray Winstone.
Rupert Sanders is directing the film, which will start shooting in August and hit our screens on June 1 next year.
