Kitana and Mileena have grown up thinking that they are sisters, yet have grown apart over the years. Despite Mileena's growing resentment towards Kitana, Shao Kahn uses them to destroy all who threaten his rule. But when they come upon King Jerrod on one of their missions, they finally learn the truth about their Mother and Father, and Kitana looks to plot her revenge against Shao Kahn.
Via Machinima’s YouTube channel we get to see this ten-part web series directed by director Kevin Tancharoen's concept trailer for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, a gritty re-imagining of the franchise characters in a real-world police procedural setting.
The series, written by Tancharoen and Spartacus: Blood and Sand writers Todd and Aaron Helbing and starring Michael Jai White, Jeri Ryan and Ian Anthony Dale (reprising their roles as Jax, Sonya Blade and Scorpion, respectively) mainly follows Scorpion, tasked by Jax and Sonya enter the underground tournament and bring down Shang Tsung, amidst his own personal vendetta against Sub-Zero.
