Liam Neeson won’t be appearing in the upcoming The Hangover Part II when the film is released in theaters May 26.
The actor had filmed scenes as a tattoo artist for the Bangkok-set sequel, but his cameo was edited out when director Todd Phillips was forced to do reshoots and Neeson was not available, according to published reports.
In the film, the tattoo artist is one of the characters the guys have to track down during their adventures. The character is described as “crazy” and “intense,” and “someone you’re afraid to talk to.”
The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes stepped in to fill Neeson’s shoes.
The role was originally meant for Mel Gibson, but after several people in the project objected, the role was recast.
