BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Crosshair Picked Up By Summit

Summit is in negotiations to pick up Crosshair, an action comic book from Top Cow Prods.

David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, riding high as part of the producing team behind the Oscar-winning boxing movie The Fighter, are attached as producers, while Morgan Foehl is attached as the writer.

Crosshair is about a former CIA assassin who "faces his most dangerous enemy ever -- himself." After learning that in 48 hours a trigger in his brain will turn him into a mindless killer with the president of the U.S. as his target, he embarks on a mission to find out who did this to him and how he can stop it before it's too late. Think The Manchurian Candidate meets 24.

Crosshair, which was created by Marc Silvestri, written by Jeff Katz, and illustrated by Silverstri and Allan Jefferson.

Mandeville picked up the comic during last year’s Comic Con, intent on developing the property as a film. In January, it set Foehl to write the script.

Summit is in the midst of making deals for the rights to the comic, the producers and writer.

Top Cow’s Marc Silvestri and Matt Hawkins are exec producing along with Mandeville’s David Manpearl. Jeff Katz, who wrote the comic with Silvestri, is co-producing.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
