Rosamund Pike is in negotiations to take over the role of Andromeda in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' Clash of the Titans sequel. Alexa Davalos played the part of the rescued princess in the first film, which grossed $492 million worldwide last year.
Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) is directing the big-budget 3D follow-up, which is scheduled to begin shooting next month for a March 2012 release. Sam Worthington (Perseus), Gemma Arterton (Io), Liam Neeson (Zeus) and Ralph Fiennes (Hades) are attached to reprise their roles.
Basil Iwanyk and Richard D. Zanuck are producing.
Pike recently starred in Barney's Version, Made in Dagenham and An Education. She will next be seen in the Fox 2000 comedy The Big Year and the Universal comedy Johnny English Reborn, both of which open in October.
