We are pleased to present the official assets for TAMARA DREWE, which will be available on DVD and Blu-ray tomorrow February 8, 2011. The movie stars Gemma Arterton (Clash of the Titans,Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), Roger Allam, Dominic Cooper (Captain America) and Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans.) And was directed by Stephen Frears (High Fidelity,The Queen)
The screenplay was written by Moira Buffini, based on the newspaper comic strip of the same name (which was then re-published as a graphic novel) written by Posy Simmonds. The comic strip which serves as source material was a modern reworking of Thomas Hardy's nineteenth century novel Far from the Madding Crowd.
When Tamara Drewe returns to the rustic village of her youth transformed by a glamorous new career as a columnist – and a dazzling new nose – she captures the imaginations of all of the men in town. But when she turns out not to be the innocent lass everyone remembers, passions are enflamed and lives are changed forever.
