BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Chuck's Josh Schwartz To Direct Fun Size

Josh Schwartz (co-created NBC's Chuck)  will make his feature directing debut with Fun Size, a teen comedy that his Fake Empire shingle is developing for Paramount.

Paramount picked up the spec script by Colbert Report scribe Max Werner in May 2010. And while several projects are vying for Schwartz's attention as a director, including the coming-of-age drama Looking for Alaska, he fell hard for the comedic script, which centers on a sarcastic teenage girl who is forced to take her little brother trick-or-treating on Halloween, then loses him and must find him before their mother finds out.

A sticking point had been timing. Paramount was unsure if the movie should be made in time for this Halloween or Halloween 2012. The studio has now made the decision to go for this year, so the movie, while still not officially greenlighted, according to the studio, is shooting for a late spring start in St. Louis.

Lis Rowinski is overseeing Fun Size for Fake Empire.

Schwartz, co-created Chuck and Gossip Girl and created The O.C., writing and exec producing the series, which developed rabid followings and put the showrunner on the map as someone in touch with the youth demo.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
