BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Story Of Lancelot After The Breakup Of Camelot

Story Of Lancelot After The Breakup Of Camelot

Echo Lake, one of the companies behind the Michael Douglas-Demi Moore indie "The Joneses," has nabbed the medieval action script "Man at Arms" from Jeremy Lott.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but "Arms" focuses on Lancelot and his adventures after the breakup of Camelot.

For those who haven't read Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur in a while, the end of King Arthur's life saw him discover that BFF Lancelot had been at it with Guinevere, leading to a schism between the two which allowed bad seed Mordred to usurp Arthur's throne and go to war against his King. Arthur is mortally wounded killing Mordred and carried off on a barge by the Lady of the Lake, and Guinevere and Lancelot both take holy orders and die in their respective convent and monastery.

Echo Lake is hoping to attract a filmmaker that can give the movie a distinct visual style.

The company also is looking at "Arms" as a step into larger commercial projects, continuing a path begun with "The Ward," a ghost thriller directed by John Carpenter and starring Amber Heard that is in postproduction. It also is developing action script "The Prince," by Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio, to act as Carpenter's follow-up.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
