Conan The Barbarian Broadway Musical

Could A Conan The Barbarian Broadway Musical Be On It's Way?

According to our good friend Randy over at TheArnoldFans we just might get our hand on a Conan the Barbarian Broadway show if John Milius has his way. Milius is best known for directing the film Conan and was also instrumental during the start-up of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) organization: it was his idea to use the octagon-shaped cage, and his association with UFC helped provide interest and investors to the start-up UFC.

Here is part of the interview that Randy had with the director.

While speaking with the great John Milius, director of Conan the Barbarian, for nearly an hour, I learned of many interesting developments for the director/screenwriter including some goods on his new Genghis Khan script, King Conan and other projects. However, one that came as the biggest surprise was that we may someday get a Conan the Barbarian broadway musical! Lookout Spiderman the musical, "Conan the Opera" is coming!

After filling me in on the latest on "King Conan: Crown of Iron" (another story), Milius dropped the bomb about another Conan project that he'd like to see materialize.

John Millius: Basil (Poledouris) and I always wanted to do Conan as either a ballet or an opera. Unfortunately Basil died but we always wanted to do that. We thought that was a great idea. I still think it would be a terrific idea. The story of Conan, of the first movie, is such a great story for a ballet or an opera.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
