BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Dave Prowse Banned From Lucasfilm Events

Vader Banned By Lucas Films

The man behind the mask of Vader will not be able to appear at any Lucasfilm's related event now or in the near future.

He better book a flight to Comic-Con now since Celebration V is out of the picture.

This is a statement released on Dave Prowse's website:

Dave is not appearing at Celebration V

It is with regret that I have been informed by my friends at C2 Ventures, Ben and Phillip, that I am not to be invited to C5 this year or any other Lucas Film associated events. After inquiring, the only thing I have been told is that I have "burnt too many bridges between Lucas Film and myself" - no other reason given.

I have also been advised by the promoter of Paris Manga in September that LFL have requested no photo opportunities with the 501 Squadron, even though I am commander in chief of the 501.

Sincere apologies to all my fans who were hoping to meet with me - I shall miss you too. As you will see from my events page I will be at many conventions all over the world so we can still keep in touch.

I have dug up a gem that may have started it all.  Vader crying like a BABY.

His issue is that he has not received residual payments for Return of the Jedi because producers told him that it has not made a profit.

“I get these occasional letters from Lucasfilm saying that we regret to inform you that as Return of the Jedi has never gone into profit, we’ve got nothing to send you. Now here we’re talking about one of the biggest releases of all time.”

Friends of Prowse said that the letter informing him that Return of the Jedi had not made a profit was referring to the special edition. Under the terms of his contract, he would be entitled to a percentage of cinema takings once the film had exceeded its production costs. The expense of adding new footage to Return of the Jedi for the special edition is not clear.

It is amazing that these actors would mess up such a good thing. Keep your mouth shut and you will never have to work a day in your life again.

This guys goes to every convention he can get his hands on and signs his signature on a picture and makes anything from $20-30 a autograph. Dream job right.

I keep on telling my wife and friends, that if I could just get a simple role on anything related to Star Wars I would  never have to work again.

I'd whore myself out to every convention big or small and sign autographs and say "What a great guy George is," even though I have never met him and sign away. How can you screw up such a good thing?

All I have to say is Douche!!

I didn't know about the special edition part of the controversy. The crazy thing is that the guy who stood in the background during one frame of the movie has a whole special edition DVD. We started a petition to help Prowse

My thought is if Lucas film CAN PROVE they did not make a profit on Return of the Jedi special edition - then Prowse is out of luck. However, if they did and his contract states he has entitlement to residual compensation - he should get it without question. I'd suggest that Mr. Prowse force them to open the books and prove themselves - one way or another. Phil PS Many entertainers have been screwed by corporate big wigs in the past - his case is questionable until proven otherwise.

Screw you bro. You’ll be the one remembered as a dbag since he has now passed. You never knew the guy... let me guess, you’re gonna fake mourn over his death now but yet you keep this up. Douche

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
