Captain America's iconic costume has been spotted in the wild, and it has been messed with.
The guys over at JoBlo has had a look at the suit Chris Evans will be wearing in the upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger, and though he can't share any images from the costume tests, he does reveal some rather surprising changes from what you might be familiar with.
Cap's famous temple wings? Gone!
Those trademark wings that have come to represent Captain America as much as his shield? Looks like we won't be seeing them.
In fact, Cap's hood is gone, too.
Replacing it is an Army helmet that comes over Cap's eyes to give him a traditional superhero "domino mask" look, with a black strap that wraps over his ears and under his chin.
He's got an old-school utility belt
Cap's belt will be doing more than just holding up his pants—we'll be seeing a Batman-style utility belt, with brown pockets and a silver buckle.
There'll only be TWO white stripes across his torso
Instead of the alternating red and white stripes across Cap's torso, we'll see two red utility straps acting as stripes over a white base. These straps connect to to a metal loop at the midpoint of the chest and from that point, a black strap extends up to the shoulders.
And if he has to go to the bathroom he can
Unlike in the comics, the pants aren't skintight—though they aren't baggy either. And the pants have a fly, so Cap can take care of other needs besides fighting World War II.
