How To Train Your Dragon 2 Arrives In 2013

DreamWorks Animation announced today during its First Quarter financial results that they will be making a sequel to the hit CGI animated film How To Train Your Dragon, and that it will be released in theaters in 2013.

I was surprised when I saw this film, I took my daughter and had not interest in the film at all. But when I left the theaters I was praising the film and telling everyone I know that they need to go watch the film. The movie made $375 million dollars worldwide so far.So something is working for them.

I just really hope that they don't kill the excitement of the film once they turn  it into a franchise film and not being able to come up with clever ideas for the next few films.

Here is the official statement that was released,

2010 is off to a strong start, thanks in large part to the performance of How to Train Your Dragon which – having grossed nearly $375 million to date in worldwide box office – has become DreamWorks Animation's next franchise. We plan to release the sequel theatrically in 2013," said Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks Animation. "3D continues to have a tremendous impact on the industry at large and we are now looking forward with great anticipation to bringing 'Shrek Forever After,' the final chapter in our beloved 'Shrek' series and the first in 3D, to audiences across the globe next month.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
