BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Kurt Cobain Coming Back To Life On The Big Screen

Kurt Cobain Coming Back To Life On The Big Screen

Seattle grunge music has left the scene, at least as far as I am concerned and now we get news that Oren Moverman wants to make a film about the life of Kurt Cobain and it will be on it's way into a theater near you soon.

They better get a move on before Courtney Love version is released, who has already optioned the film rights to the Cross book. Everything comes in pairs.

Oren Moverman (“Messenger”) is moving forward with movie, Moverman is in negotiations to rework the screenplay for Universal’s untitled Kurt Cobain project and direct it as well. Screenwriter David Benioff (“Brothers”) first took on the project in Fall 2007 for Working Title and Reveille.

Material on the life, music and 1994 suicide of the Nirvana singer-songwriter will come at least partially from Charles R. Cross’ 2001 biography, “Heavier Than Heaven: A Biography of Kurt Cobain.” Universal originally purchased the life rights of both Cobain and his widow.

Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
